Meet Roopak Venkatakrishnan, a self professed geek

I am currently pusuing my Masters in Computer Science at North Carolina State University. I will be headed to "join the flock" at Twitter starting July 2014. I can always been found in front of a system trying to hack something together or to learn something new. I love experimenting and have tried a lot of things right from setting up networks, developing applications to reverse engineering software. I go by the motto of trying to understand anything I can get my hands on.

I particularly love cloud based applications and have a special place for HTML5 apps. I have worked with a variety of languages across different products, and feel that a new language is not a barrier but an opportunity to learn something more. I am always open to working on interesting and challenging projects on the side.

Worked with the Travel Team on various internal projcts. Worked on and launched a module which is triggered on certain queries on Google search.

Technologies used : C++, Java, Protobufs, and other internal tools.

Develop various modules for the department website. This includes several admin maintenance tools as well as front end work. Working on converting flash components to HTML5.
